As a Christian, I always find myself asking my brothers and sisters in the Lord for prayer. I couldn’t do without knowing that they are supporting me and lifting up the need to the Lord. So when others ask for prayer, I’m aware of how important it is to take needs before God. And I’ve learned how imperative it is to be connected to a body of believers. I truly consider their prayers an act of kindness.

In the last month, a family situation has arisen. I’ve prayed for a person for forty years to receive salvation—someone very dear to me. So far, I’ve seen no indication that my prayers have been answered. Recently this one has been victim to a series of life-threatening accidents which I suspect haven’t happened by chance. One of the accidents happened at home which resulted in two hospital visits and the second involved a drunk driver, sending my loved one to the hospital for a third time.

Since I’ve prayed for so many years, I think this person is getting close to receiving Christ and the enemy doesn’t like it.

He lives over a thousand miles from where I live, so I can’t exactly visit at the hospital. Too, many times we’re not as open to hearing the gospel from those close to us. I know. I’ve tried before to no avail.

So I took the prayer need to my Sunday school class and my ministry partners, despairing for this one’s life. All are praying, PTL. However, one lady went a step further and contacted a church in the area where my loved one lives. Hopefully someone will be available to go to the hospital and visit my loved one, and God willing share the gospel.

Though I don’t know the outcome or how God will work things out, I am so grateful to these dear prayer partners. Their support reminds me of the strong fortress that Lord provides for us. My brothers and sisters in Christ have offered kindness to me in showing me they care.
