Hello, Friday Fiction Friends! As you know, my website is dedicated to stories from off the beaten track. And A.S. Hardin’s last post and this one are dedicated to television instead of books. But mine does have “book” in the title. 🙂
When we switched from satellite television to Live Streaming, we decided to go with a Hulu package. Seemed as good as any. We added ESPN since my hubby and I love football. I also told him I wanted Disney. I mean, we have six grandkids and there would be a lot for them to watch. He agreed.
But, in all honesty, I wanted Disney. Yes, and not so much for the family movies and series but for…
STAR WARS.
Yes, I’ve loved Star Wars stuff since I was a teen, and a channel with all the movies and more? Had to have it. I’ve seen all the movies, enjoyed The Mandalorian, and now had mixed feelings about Disney’s latest creation, The Book of Boba Fett.
I mean, he was the villain, bad guy, and helped put Hans on ice. Freezing Harrison Ford is about as low as a bounty hunter can get.
But I decided to watch the first episode and quickly realized that in this series, he’s not as much a villain as an anti-hero. According to sjsu.edu, an anti-hero is a hero that has some of the characteristics and personality traits of a villain but ultimately gives in to the goals and desires of a hero. My favorite anti-hero would be Rick in Casablanca.
And to me, an anti-hero describes Boba Fett in this new series. I loved the way they weaved The Mandalorian into the series and even added Luke Skywalker. It can’t be Star Wars without an appearance from Luke. It’s full of action, lots of great characters, and a pretty good plot. The last episode had me on the edge of my seat with a twist I didn’t really see coming. And that made it even better.
I give The Book of Boba Fett five stormtrooper helmets for a fun, wild ride in the world of all things Star Wars.
