Favorite Friday Reads: The Tough Warrior by Cami Checketts

I love books that show the gentleness of a macho, tough guy, and that is what Cami Checketts has done with The Tough Warrior. Some parts are in-your-face and gritty, but other scenes made me chuckle.

I enjoyed the give and take between Scarlet and Griff. They know each other well, so can push each other’s proverbial buttons, which made me smile.

Ms. Checketts balanced the loving thoughts and the danger well. I connected with the characters almost immediately.

This is a clean romance with no language or sex scenes. It does include kissing, though. And gun fights. And lots of angst. And a fair amount of loving thoughts.
