Hi, Favorite Friday Fiction friends! My great read for today is The Return of Sherlock Holmes. I recently noticed it on the shelf at my local Books-A-Million and just had to buy it and reread the classic. I never get tired of the short stories of Sherlock Holmes, the greatest fictional detective ever. And I believe some of his stories would fall under the genre, Speculative mystery. There have been so many spin-off novels, remakes, and takes in movies, it can boggle the mind. Do you have a favorite actor who played Sherlock?

The Return of Sherlock Holmes

The Return of Sherlock Holmes is a set of thirteen Sherlock Holmes testimonies, in the beginning, published in 1903-1904, via Arthur Conan Doyle.

The ebook became first posted on March 7, 1905, by using Georges Newnes, Ltd, and in a Colonial edition by means of Longmans. 30,000 copies have been fabricated from the initial print run. The US edition through McClure, Phillips & Co. Introduced another 28,000 to the run.

This was the first Holmes collection considering 1893, while Holmes had “died” in “The Adventure of the Final Problem”. Having published The Hound of the Baskervilles in 1901–1902 (although placing it earlier than Holmes’ death) Doyle came beneath intense strain to restore his famous character.
