Missed a blog post? No worries. Post 1. Post 2. Post 3.

Hi, friends! I’m so glad you joined me today. No, really. I mean it. I’ve stayed focused on my podcasting journey because of people like YOU. Family, mentors, friends, and other creatives who’ve encouraged me. Cheered for me. Came alongside and given me aid.

And if you think about it, you can say the same. People on your path who’ve made the day a little bit easier.

Kind people.

Generous.

Encouraging.

Those wonderful beings who love you as you are.

Let’s talk about them…

My podcasting equipment had arrived and I moved it to the study, where my desktop computer sat, the room that would house my new venture. I guess you might think I’d open all the boxes, examine what I’d bought, and set it up.

Yeah, you would think that as the logical next step, but nothing about this part of my journey has been easy. So, it sat there for about a week. I’d walk by and look at it. Break out in a cold sweat. Then go clean something else.

After ten days, I finally sat in my little glider/rocker and opened the microphone box. Cool. It was kinda fancy. Sleek. Professional.

Everything I was not. 🙂

I opened the other boxes and stared at cords and plugs and parts. I mean, lots of parts. The instructions might as well been written in ancient Hebrew. How in the world could I be a podcaster when I had no idea how to even set up the equipment?

I needed help. As I sat there, wide-eyed and extremely disappointed with myself, I felt a God-nudge. One reminding me that my son was a musician who’d taken all kinds of sound equipment courses in college.

He set it up in less than ten minutes. And offered to come back anytime I needed help. I could breathe again. (To follow Jonathan on his journey, check out his YouTube channel)

Then I sent out my monthly newsletter, mentioning my new venture. I received six encouraging, affirming emails from friends and writers. They told me I could do this. Wanted me to remind them when it starts. So they can listen.

Wow.

Help. Encouragement. Like salve applied to a cut, it soothed my soul and gave me a boost to continue. I hope and pray that is what my podcast will do for you.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

The excitement is building. Just a month until the first episode. So, what’s next?

Practice. Practice. Practice.

The dance floor is open.

Until then. Stay determined to dance.

Podcast coming soon. The tentative start date is March 2nd. (or sooner if I can)
